Reservations Process

Ashling Cottage
After we take your room reservation, we document your request for a specific room and date on our guest calendar.

Once we have received your credit card information, we will then finalize your reservation.

We charge a deposit of 50% of the total room fee for the length of your stay. The Total Fee & the Deposit will include a 7% NJ Sales Tax and an 8% Occupancy Fee. We will collect the balance of the room fee when you check-in on the day of your arrival. We will accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover, personal checks, traveler’s checks and cash as payment for services.

Check-In & Check-Out Time

Check-in time is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A late check-in time might be arranged if the owner’s approval is obtained in advance. Checkout is by 11:00 a.m. We must adhere to the stated check-in and check-out times. We have committed our facilities to the guests who have confirmed reservations for the day and evening of their reservation.

B&B Services Are Only Available To Our Guests During The Period Of The Guests Reservation

During these times of check-in, from 2:00 p.m. on the day of your reservation to 11:00 a.m. of the day of your check-out, you will have our comfortable and relatively new beach equipment available for your use. We regret that you cannot have access to our beach badges, chairs, or towels before 2:00 p.m. on the day of check-in or after 11:00 a.m. on the date of departure. (After checkout, you can purchase one-day beach badges to get access to the beach for approximately $8.00. Beach passes are required from Memorial Day Weekend until the end of the second weekend after Labor Day).

Even though we provide beach amenities during the time for which you are a registered guest, you may want to extend your stay at the beach, with beach equipment, on your day of arrival or day of checkout. In this case, we suggest that you bring your own beach chairs, umbrellas and towels so that you have the beach amenities available during this extended period of time.

Cancellation Charges and The Disposition Of Deposits

A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation. This deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time you request the reservation.

If you must cancel these reservations, 70% of the reservation deposit will be refunded up to 10 days before the date reserved. If we receive your cancellation notice within 10 days before the reservation date, your reservation deposit will be forfeited.

Most credit cards, personal checks, traveler’s checks and cash are accepted. The balance of the room fee is due when you check-in.

A cancellation notice is very disappointing to both the owners of Ashling Cottage and the guests who have decided to cancel. More than likely, Ashling Cottage has turned away other guests who would have paid the full price for the room that is being cancelled. Therefore, the owners lose 50% of the room rate even when they receive the required cancellation deposit. So, please review our cancellation conditions carefully and take them into consideration before you make your reservation decision. Ashling Cottage could not survive very long as a viable business if our guests did not live up to their reservation commitment, regardless of their personal misfortunes or inclement weather. After all, we live up to our commitment to hold your room for you when you have made reservations and other prospects are clamoring for the room during favorable weather. We strongly recommend trip insurance.
